jenn: Jennifer Bélanger s’intéresse à l’observateur accidentel et les éléments du quotidien comme matière en art. Parfois elle s’envoie des lettres d’encouragement par la poste. Beaucoup de son travail contient des éléments autobiographiques. Sa démarche pivote surtout sur les arts imprimés* et ce point de départ se trouve dans ses projets soit de façon conceptuelle ou technique incluant fréquemment des éléments textuels, du dessin et des éléments de la culture populaire. Jennifer Bélanger is interested in the accidental observer and the ordinary and daily as matter for art. Sometimes she thinks art ruined her life. Bélanger has a BFA from Université de Moncton and an MFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. She has worked as the program coordinator at Galerie Sans Nom and was director of Imago artist run print studio from 2000 to 2019. Bélanger has curated several projects in Acadie and is currently an associate professor in the Fine Arts department (printmaking) at the Université de Moncton.
