Long jeu/ Long Play

Un appel Facebook a été lancé pour la participation de collectionneurs de

vinyles à Moncton en vue d’un projet de recherche et d’exposition.

L’artiste a rencontré douze collectionneurs où elle a photographié l’espace de rangement et a documenté une section des tranches de chaque collection à l’aide d’un scanneur portatif. Malgré que plusieurs des participants et l’artiste se connaissaient déjà, il y a quelques participants où c’était une première rencontre. Les participants ont ensuite rempli un questionnaire décrivant leur collection et leur façon de gérer celle-ci. Le résultat exposé à la Galerie du Centre culturel Aberdeen représente les douze premières personnes qui ont répondu à l’appel.

Twelve vinyl collectors answered a Facebook invitation to participate in a

research and exhibition project titled Long Play. The artist met with the 12

collectors, documented a section of chosen spines from their collection

with a portable scanner then documented the space and gave them each

a questionnaire to fill out about their method of collecting. Although the

artist and many of the participants already knew each other for some it

was a first meeting. Long Play documents the twelve vinyl collectors in

Moncton to first answer the call.
